About me
Katherine Janicki, RP
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the CRPO, and a graduate of the Ontario Psychotherapy and Counseling Program (OPC). My theoretical orientation is psychodynamic, meaning I work with unconscious mental and emotional processes that are always in flow and at play in our day-to-day lives. I also draw on other modalities such as parts work, somatic therapy, and emotionally-focused therapy depending on the unique needs of my clients. I have trained with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) in MDMA-assisted psychotherapy, as well as with Therapsil as a provider of psilocybin-assisted therapy. Further to my clinical work, I am a faculty member at OPC.
My approach is humanistic, relationally-focused, and anti-oppressive. I am queer-friendly, trans-affirming, and feminist, and strive for ongoing awareness of how economic and sociocultural factors impact our lives and the field of mental health care. It is a core value for me to address these topics directly to foster greater trust and transparency in the therapy relationship.
