Welcome.

If you are seeking caring support as you navigate the challenges of life, reconnection with yourself and others, or simply greater self-knowledge, you are in the right place.

Perhaps you find yourself wondering how you can ever feel content in the face of the stress and anxiety in your life. Perhaps you have many loved ones, but still feel lonely and isolated. Perhaps you are going through something that feels so overwhelming, you’re not even sure where to begin. If you are in a partnership, perhaps you are frustrated and wondering if there is any hope for better communication and intimacy.

You do not have to walk your path alone.

My Approach

  • Katherine Janicki, Registered Psychotherapist

  • As a therapist, I am by your side as we tackle life’s big questions together. I hold you as the expert on your experience and your vision of a happy, fulfilling life. We collaborate to find the way there while also looking at the path you’ve walked so far. My clinical approach is based on self-exploration and agency. We “illuminate” by getting to know the internal and external factors that govern our beliefs, challenges, and ways of being. We bring this to light by reflecting on our past experiences and how they impact us in the present. We “integrate” by applying this new understanding in our day-to-day lives and our relationships.

I believe that thriving relationships are the key to satisfaction and contentment in our lives. While my clinical approach is psychodynamic, any effective therapy rests on the foundation of a strong relationship. My interest is in working with you to co-create a safe, trusting connection in which you can explore your internal world, process emotions big and small, and get in touch with your inner wisdom to facilitate healing and growth.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an approach that focuses on the roots of our suffering and our current ways of being. By reflecting and exploring our relationships, behaviours, and perspectives on the world and ourselves, we can spark psychological processes that lead to ongoing change.
